BIO

I became interested in music as a child and began singing in church ensemble's around age 12. By my early teens, I had begun to write and perform my own songs. I also had the opportunity to work with a professional musician on the art of song-writing until I went on to college.

While at the University of North Texas, I studied classical voice for four years and explored jazz vocal techniques through private jazz-vocal lessons. After receiving  my  bachelor's  degree, I  became  a regular on the Texas Opry circuit and went back to my roots in church music, doing some recording for Christian writers and singing with various Christian ensembles. I was a member of The Spirit of Jazz, a Christian  jazz combo for 5 years and sang with Tocar, a Christian/Secular jazz group for 2 years. The Spirit of Jazz performs at Christian events around the Metroplex. Tocar played at Christian events and worship services as well as secular parties, weddings, and festivals.

I also made up half of the guitar and vocal duo I shared with my husband, Paul. The duo performed many styles of music including jazz, pop and rock.  We played together for 3 years at various restaurants and yacht clubs & parties, until we decided to have our first baby. I am now enjoying motherhood with a four year old .

In recent years, I have developed a deep desire to use my voice to worship Jesus Christ. I feel like God gives us all specific gifts of our own and we should use them for His Glory, in order to give back to Him.

Paul and I were  part of the Worship team at Meadowcreek Community Church (which is now Lakepointe Church ~Towneast)  for 5 years. He played  guitar and was the Band Leader. I was Assistant Worship Leader & Assistant Vocal Leader for the team  and did several of the presentation songs and background vocals/harmony on a regular basis.  While there, I began to feel a call to worship leading. I attended and graduated Christ For the Nations Institute from the School of Worship & Technical Arts. I have since been singing on various teams including Vista Ridge United Methodist Church &  Preston Trail Community Church. We are just beginning to get involved at Heartland  Church in Irving as Paul has taken on a position on their Worship team. I will continue to take opportunities as God sends them and I eventually will lead worship somewhere, when the time is right. As of now, I am focusing on  living a ‘life worthy of the calling’ that I have received, as it says in Ephesians 4:1(NIV).
